Creative Director / Director

My full time gig is as Creative Director /Live action Director at Lava Studio. I've been blessed with opportunities that have allowed me to become an Emmy award winning designer and award winning director. My background is in graphic design / animation / visual effects and all of these disciplines come in to play when I am developing storyboards for the commercials and other projects I am directing. One of my favorite things is the ability to take an idea from concept to completion.

Painter

I like to use bold colors with a painterly sensibility to combine popular iconic images, comics, phrases and type to create thematic pop art...at least for the most part. Applying my graphic art background and my love for painting, I try and create bold artwork that reflects my observations on the culture we live in, either the profound, or the ridiculous and sometimes just the beauty. Using juxtapositions of symbolism and tongue in cheek metaphors my work doesn’t always reveal itself at first glance. The deeper meaning can be found after the initial pop eye candy has time to settle into the consciousness...if there is a meaning at all.

By means of textures, collages and a variety of surfaces I continue my development by always experimenting with different techniques to create my artwork.
